ONEMEDIAGLOBAL! On May 7, 2026, in Jakarta, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia officially inaugurated the definitive Director of Poltekkes Kemenkes Manado, Dr. Hanung Prasetya, SKp., M.Si. This inauguration marked the end of the leadership transition period within Poltekkes Kemenkes Manado, which had been led for nearly one year by an acting director, and also became an important milestone in strengthening the governance of the health education institution.
With the appointment of the new Director, Poltekkes Kemenkes Manado now officially has definitive leadership expected to accelerate organizational consolidation, improve academic quality, and strengthen the institution’s role in producing professional and competitive health workers. The presence of the new leadership is also seen as a strategic step in driving the transformation of health education that is adaptive to the development of science, technology, and the evolving needs of public health services.
Previously, the leadership transition period was managed by Acting Director Mrs. Sandra Gerce Jelly Tombokan, S.SiT, S.Pd, M.Kes, who played an important role in maintaining organizational stability during the leadership change process. During this period, various academic activities, institutional governance, and educational services continued to run well and in an orderly manner. Appreciation and gratitude are extended for Mrs. Sandra’s dedication in ensuring institutional continuity amid the dynamics of leadership transition.
The inauguration of the new Director represents a key milestone in strengthening the institution’s future policy direction. With new leadership in place, Poltekkes Kemenkes Manado is expected to further expand collaboration networks, improve practice-based learning quality, and strengthen research and innovation in the health sector. This aligns with the vision of developing higher health education that is responsive to global challenges and local as well as national healthcare needs.
